When Nordic distributor Ramcon decided to start its Medtech operations in Sweden, it faced a crucial challenge familiar to many healthcare suppliers: ensuring absolute reliability in handling and delivering life-critical products. Ramcon is a Nordic distributor specializing in laboratory and medical technology. The company supplies hospitals, laboratories, and home-care patients with equipment and consumables. As part of its Swedish expansion, Ramcon needed a solution for managing large volumes of sterile, patient-critical products that must be handled with the utmost care.
“Our Medtech products are used directly in patient care. They have to arrive exactly when needed; a delayed delivery creates enormous problems,” says Mikael Hollmark, Managing Director of Ramcon AB.
Posti’s Borås logistics center became the natural choice to serve the Swedish market. Strategically located near the Västra Götaland region, home to Ramcon’s largest customer base, it offered both capacity and agility.
A partnership built from the ground up
The collaboration began when Ramcon, supported by a consultant, evaluated several 3PL providers at the end of 2024. Although Posti had limited prior experience with medical-technical products, its proactive approach impressed the Ramcon team.
“We saw a real willingness to learn and to develop the right model together,” recalls Axel Sjöblad, CEO at Ramcon Group. “There was a positive spirit and engagement from Posti that made us confident they were the right partner, and it turned out we were right.”
From the start, onboarding was a true joint project. Both companies worked closely to design the systems and processes required for handling sensitive products with strict traceability and quality standards.
“Because the products are sterile, we had to meet specific requirements for how they are stored, packaged, and transported,” says Nicklas Yderhag, Site Manager at Posti Borås. “We even held dedicated training sessions with Ramcon to ensure our team understood every detail.”
From integration to excellence
The partnership moved quickly from planning to execution. The integration was completed during the first quarter of 2024, and by summer the operations were running smoothly. Together, the teams implemented a complete logistics chain covering inbound transport from France, storage, order picking, and delivery to both hospitals and home patients.
Today, Posti manages the entire logistics flow for Ramcon’s Medtech business in Sweden. Results have been strong:

Cost per shipment reduced by 25–30 percent since launch
“Everything runs extremely smoothly now; we’ve even reduced the number of follow-up meetings because operations work so well,” says Mikael Hollmark.
Nicklas Yderhag agrees: “We have delivered very high quality from day one, but what is even more satisfying is that we have continued improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness together.”
Flexibility and growth
A major reason for success has been flexibility. Ramcon’s daily order volumes fluctuate significantly, yet Posti’s setup in Borås adapts easily. The warehouse capacity has grown fourfold in just over a year, from about 200 pallet spaces to 750, without disruption.
“Ramcon’s business is expanding fast,” says Nicklas Yderhag. “They have tripled their warehouse turnover in a year and a half, and we have built a setup that can grow with them. That is our shared goal.”
For Ramcon, Posti’s ability to manage both bulk shipments and smaller home-patient deliveries has been crucial. “Posti’s range of transport solutions makes it possible to deliver to hospitals and private addresses with the same level of reliability,” notes Mikael Hollmark. “That’s something we wouldn’t have been able to handle on our own.”
Shared values, shared success
Beyond numbers, both sides highlight the partnership’s openness and collaboration. Regular operational reviews, clear communication, and a focus on improvement have built trust.
“We have open conversations and solve issues together,” says Nicklas Yderhag. “It is never about blame; it is about finding the best solution for the customer.”

Looking ahead
As Ramcon continues to expand its Medtech segment, one of its key growth areas, the partnership with Posti is set to deepen. Discussions are currently underway about further strengthening and expanding the collaboration to support Ramcon’s continued growth across the Nordics.
“The Medtech business is critical to our future, and we cannot grow it without a strong 3PL partner,” says Mikael Hollmark. “Posti is an essential part of our long-term strategy.”
