When Sweden and Finland parted ways in 1809, postal services were divided as well. Today, Finnish logistics company Posti aims to reconnect those ties through an ambitious expansion in the Swedish logistics market and stronger cooperation across the Nordic region.

– We have 400 years of experience in logistics solutions, and the entire Nordic region is our home market. It would be a waste not to make full use of that, says Peter Ervasalo, Head of Sweden at Posti.
Posti is a Finnish logistics company offering a complete range of logistics services for businesses, from traditional parcel deliveries to advanced logistics solutions and on‑site staffing. The company operates in Finland, Sweden, Norway and the Baltics.
Previously, Posti operated in Sweden under the Aditro Logistics brand. In March 2025, the company rebranded as Posti and simultaneously scaled up its operations in the Swedish market.
– Sweden is the leading market in the Nordics. It is a market we want to compete in, and the timing is right. More and more customers are looking for one logistics partner across the entire Nordic region. By growing in Sweden and uniting our operations under a single Posti brand across borders, we can meet that demand, says Peter Ervasalo.
In October 2025, Posti Group was listed on Nasdaq Helsinki, creating further opportunities for international growth.
Growing despite a challenging market
After one year under the Posti brand in Sweden, the company’s operations have been characterised by growth and new partnerships.
– We have received a very positive response in Sweden. Increased demand for contract logistics and in‑house logistics services led to a 10.5 percent growth in the warehousing and logistics services segment in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared with the same period in 2024, despite a challenging market situation, says Peter Ervasalo.
He also sees strong potential for further growth in this segment in Sweden, which has historically lagged behind Finland, where Posti is a pioneer and market leader.
– We have both the experience and the expertise, and we can now fully leverage that in Sweden and across the Nordics as well.
Strong potential in logistics outsourcing
Growth in the warehousing and logistics services market is largely driven by an increasing willingness to outsource logistics.
– Outsourcing parts of business operations is already common in many other areas, but within logistics services it is still relatively uncommon. In Sweden, only eight percent of companies outsource their logistics today, says Peter Ervasalo.
At the same time, he sees clear signs of change.
– The logistics market is evolving. Inquiries are increasing, and the outlook for the future is very positive.
According to surveys commissioned by Posti, around 70 percent of customers say they are willing to outsource more of their logistics operations within the next five years. Efficiency gains are the primary driver, along with improved scalability and the opportunity to focus more on core business activities.
– This is definitely a growing segment. Given our long experience and our position as a Nordic logistics expert, we see very strong opportunities to gain additional market share, says Peter Ervasalo.
Collaboration as a key success factor
Part of Posti’s recent success in Sweden can be attributed to closer collaboration between countries.
– This is where our strength lies as a more unified company, in close cross‑border cooperation, combined with deep logistics expertise and a strong customer focus.
The sense of unity is also evident internally.
– On the very day we changed our brand to Posti, we replaced signage, flags and employee workwear. We immediately noticed a strong sense of pride among our employees. They became part of something bigger, a respected, reliable and at the same time expanding company.
Peter Ervasalo also highlights Posti’s systematic sustainability work as a key competitive advantage. Global rankings show that sustainability is an integrated part of the company’s strategy. In 2025, Posti was ranked among the top five percent in the global EcoVadis sustainability assessment and received the second‑highest score in CDP’s climate assessment.
– For the fourth year in a row, we were also recognised in the Financial Times Europe’s Climate Leaders 2025. Among the 600 listed companies, we are one of the leading players in the logistics industry. We are very proud of that, says Peter Ervasalo.
