Posti's Logistics Trend Report has now been published. The report explains how two major drivers of change – digitalization and sustainability – will shape logistics in the coming years. The report is based on a trend analysis carried out in cooperation with VTT (Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd.) and a survey to which more than 2,000 business decision-makers in Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania responded.
The goal is to make interconnected phenomena visible and provide insights that help readers understand the change and identify the opportunities it opens up. The report is aimed at anyone who is interested in the impact of logistics on business and the new opportunities brought about by the changes.
The dual transition binds the themes of the report together
The report extensively discusses the impact of the combination of digitalization and sustainable development, i.e. the twin transitions, on logistics. The twin transition is a common factor in all the different areas of the report.
A change in consumer behavior that challenges the development of logistics, especially in terms of e-commerce purchases, delivery expectations and new circular economy business models.
Development of logistics centers with the aim of resource efficiency and flexibility through outsourcing, technology and collaboration.
Network optimization and risk management, where data-driven operations, scalability, and cybersecurity are emphasized in the midst of geopolitical and economic pressures.
Transforming modes of transport, where different energy sources and new urban solutions meet smart, data-driven freight visibility.
